Teleport-TP

This project was for a Pan-Russia voice and data satellite network which operated on C-Band Hemi beam of an Intelsat IOR satellite.

For the first phase of the project I was responsible for the post-sales system integration. For the second phase I handled both the pre and post-sales system engineering.

The hub was a new Teleport located in the Moscow Technopark , where an 18m Standard B antenna was constructed, together with cluster of three interconnecting shelters to house the equipment.

The system utilized a combination of Scientific Atlanta DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple Access) equipment that allowed full on-demand mesh connectivity between and of the nodes in the network, and modems for standard IDR data transmission.

The first phase of the project was the Moscow hub, a number of remote sites with7m Standard F antennas and associated equipment shelter to support DAMA and IDR, plus approx 16+ 4.5m Standard G antennas which provided just DAMA.

The size of the project and the amount of equipment to be shipped led the customer to charter the Antonov 'Heavy Lift' aircraft to transport all the antennas, shelters, and ancillary equipment from Atlanta to Moscow.

The second phase of the project was an expansion of the Moscow hub through the addition of two more shelters to the interconnected cluster, additional 7m and 4.5m remote sites.
